How to manage a distributed team

While people are switching to remote work, it becomes hard to manage a team and make sure if all the tasks are fulfilled. This blog will help you understand what your distributed team needs and how to lead it successfully.

How to manage a distributed team

More and more people are switching to remote work these days. That also means remote teams are the future but it might also be a challenge to manage the communication and work when the team is not physically together.

So the first thing we have to do is to make people feel a part of the team that is building something great together.

Here is how to do it:

1. Introduce team members

When you hire new employees, set up a virtual meeting to make them familiar with the rest of the team, and feel more comfortable.

2. Use the right tools

Email is one of the main communication channels, but sometimes people need to get into a quick contact to discuss some ideas or challenges. Forming a group on apps like WhatsApp would be a good idea.

3. Team atmosphere

Schedule weekly meetings to discuss the work, new strategies, and make sure everyone is focused on the goals.

The best way to do that is by zoom calls or google meets.

4. Be the part of the team

This is important for any team but even more for a remote one, as anyone might get questions anytime that requires a leader to look up to.

To track the process, use project management apps like Trello or Asana.
